The main objective of the project for the donation of educational materials for blind people is to ensure that students have access to adequate inclusive teaching resources that allow them to complete and develop their school curriculum in a comprehensive and equitable manner.
In this type of initiative, inclusive educational materials should be designed to address the specific needs of the visually impaired, including:
- Material in Braille and adapted formats for reading and writing.
- Technical and technological aids, such as typhlotechnology, talking calculators, screen readers, hearing aids with amplification, among others.
- Concrete and manipulative resources to support the learning of practical and life skills.
- Audiovisual, orientation and mobility materials to facilitate integration and independence.
Contents of the kits: we provide school supplies such as braille notebooks, rulers, punches, braille eraser, braille geometry kit, geoplane, talking calculator, punching board with punch, geometric figures, folder with block of sheets and other basic materials. We also deliver resistant and adequate backpacks to transport all the materials in a safe and comfortable way.
Beneficiaries: this initiative is aimed at primary and secondary school students, mainly in remote rural and urban areas where access to school materials is limited.
The project seeks to reduce barriers to access to education, promote inclusion and enable blind and visually impaired people to achieve the same educational goals as their peers, developing academic competencies as well as social and life skills.
We also seek to provide inclusive schools and colleges that serve blind or visually impaired people with the necessary resources to ensure that their education is complete, accessible and of high quality, thus contributing to their integral development and the visibility of their capacity as citizens.
